At Village Orthodontics, we understand that each person's needs and goals for orthodontics are varied. For this reason, we take great care in giving you the individualized treatment you deserve.
Your first visit will allow us to get acquainted and to answer your orthodontic questions. Dr. Wilkinson will conduct a thorough oral exam in which she will determine the individual's course of treatment. At this time, Dr. Wilkinson will address your remaining questions.
With this information, a treatment plan will be developed and presented. Length and cost of treatment will be discussed.
After evaluating your child, Dr. Wilkinson may not recommend immediate treatment. She may want to place your child in a growth and development group where he/she will be closely observed at subsequent recall appointments.
Recall appointments are very important. They are opportunities for Dr. Wilkinson to evaluate factors such as jaw growth, baby tooth loss, permanent tooth eruption and the effects of habits like thumb sucking, tongue thrusting, mouth breathing and tooth grinding.
Timing can be critical to a successful treatment outcome. During recall visits, Dr. Wilkinson will determine the ideal time to start active treatment for your child.
